At Dame Ellen Pinsent School Communication is our ‘Golden Thread’ that runs through everything we do. We recognise that every child communicates in their own unique way, and we are committed to understanding, developing and celebrating each ‘voice’.

Through total communication approaches we create an environment where every child is heard, valued and empowered. Whether through speech, gestures, signs or symbols, communication is the key that unlocks learning, builds relationships, improves behaviour and allows our children to be independent.

At Dame Ellen Pinsent school we are passionate about embedding communication into every moment of the school day. We support our children to develop the skills and confidence they need to connect with others, make choices, express emotions and thrive both in our school community and beyond.
