Do & Discover

DoAndDiscover

At Dame Ellen Pinsent we believe that, regardless of need or disability, our children should be exposed to a variety of exciting activities in an environment where they feel safe and supported to take risks. As such we give our children the opportunity to take part in a wide range of exciting outdoor activities in our ‘Do and Discover’ citizenship program. We provide activities and opportunities that are delivered through the curriculum, and on the last Friday of every half-term, that allow our children to have experiences that are designed to inspire and identify their interests and talents.

Activities include, but are not limited to, stroking a donkey, climbing a climbing wall, making mud pies, blowing bubbles and exploring inflatables.

Each child has an online ‘Do and Discover’ book that stays with them throughout their time at Dame Ellen Pinsent and is filled in with photographs of their experiences.  Children get the opportunity to complete as many activities as possible within class and during our allocated "Do and Discover" days and these are recorded in their personal book when completed and printed and sent home when they leave us in year 6.
