Do & Discover
At Dame Ellen Pinsent we believe that regardless of need or disability our children should be exposed to a variety of exciting activities in an environment where they feel safe and supported to take risks. As such for one week, every year, we give our children the opportunity to take part in a wide range of exciting outdoor activities in our annual ‘Do and Discover’ week. We also have activities and opportunities that are delivered through the curriculum that allow our children to explore experiences to inspire and identify interests and talents.
Staff and children were involved in identifying a wide range of activities that we felt all children should have the opportunity to experience. 50 were chosen and these became our ‘Do and Discover’ tasks.
Each child has a ‘Do and Discover’ book that stays with them throughout their time at Dame Ellen Pinsent. Children get the opportunity to complete as many activities as possible within class and during our special "Do and Discover" Week and these are recorded in their personal book when completed.
