Remote Education

Remote Education
During the pandemic it was imperative for schools to continue to engage with children and families to reduce the impact of lockdowns on children’s education. Some schools continue to share this information.
At Dame Ellen Pinsent remote education will only ever be used as a last resort and where a decision has been made that attendance at school is not possible, despite all reasonable efforts, but pupils are able to continue learning.
Remote education is not an alternative to attending school and is therefore not a choice and will only be provided where there is no alternative to education.
The staff at Dame Ellen Pinsent school support children with specialised strategies and resources that may not be available in the home. We are aware that some children may not be able to access independent remote learning tasks.
In the event of school closure for longer than a day, parents will be messaged via Dojo with suggested activities that can be completed in the home and also provide links to the Oak National Academy where a variety of videos containing lessons and therapies, for special school pupils, have been created.
